Balanced Action Yoga
Balanced Action Yoga (BAYoga). Honoring its roots in Anusara Yoga, Balanced Action Yoga is a heart centered form of Hatha yoga that includes the full spectrum yoga experience: from dynamic flow to precise alignment based asana, powerful yoga therapeutics and restoratives. Steeped in the rich history and philosophy of the yoga tradition, BAYoga features cutting edge biomechanical understandings of anatomy and physiology.
Balanced Action Yoga classes are playful, empowering, and inspiring. Each session is taught with precision and skill and honors the individual needs of each student. Balanced Action Yoga cultivates strength & flexibility in the physical, mental & emotional realms. The over-arching aim of this yoga practice is to grant students access to the creative, healing power of their own heart’s truth. From this inherent truth service to the whole is born. BAYoga affirms and expands Karma Yoga, the yoga of service, as an organic outpouring of authentic heart centered practice. Though dedicated practice we have the capacity to generate peace from the inside out and are inspired to actively share that through engaging in service to the greater community in projects that help to unite and empower society to heal.
Balanced Action Yoga has evolved through intensive study and practice in the following disciplines:
Anusara Yoga
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga
Iyengar Yoga
Restorative Yoga
Therapeutic Yoga
Karma Yoga
Tantric and Classical Yoga Philosophy
Ayurveda
Extensive Anatomy & Physiology
Modern Dance and Acrobatics
Performance Fitness
AcroYoga
AcroYoga blends the spiritual wisdom of yoga with the loving kindness of Thai massage and the dynamic power of Acrobatics. These three ancient lineages form this practice that cultivates trust, connection, and playfulness. There are 7 main elements that make up the practice: circle ceremony, asana, partner flow, Thai massage, therapeutic flying, inversions and spotting, and partner acrobatics. Our highest aim is to bring individuals into a state of union with themselves, with each other, and with the divine. From this place of mutual support, the true Self can be realized, celebrated, and shared for the benefit of all.
